FORGET the 3G iPhone.. I'm keeping my old one.. {3G Pictures LEAKED}

I was planning on getting the new 3G iPhone simply because I thought at first it was going to be more "sleek" than the current iPhone, but I guess I was the wrong..

Few reasons why I will not be getting the new 3G iPhone and keeping my current 16GB iPhone..
1. 3G Battery Life is worse than v1.
2. 3G is more thicker, wider, and taller than the v1.
3. The plastic back on the 3G will collect fingerprints EASY.
4. Data plan blows, $30/month over the current $20/month plan.
5. GPS is not even real life time navigation turn/by/turn GPS.
6. The 3G iPhone 3G speeds were proven "BARELY" faster than EDGE.

Only thing going for it, is the "rumored" much better speakers.. But we'll see..

I was going to sell mine and buy the 3G one as well but the one in that picture looks mad ugly but if the speakers are alot better I might consider it, because the speakers on the original one are pathetic

Yea, I know, actually they aren't THAT bad, did you use a needle to poke the holes in the speaker holes? And you should change the EQ to "Spoken Words".. Major improvement...

Na so what do I do? just get a needle a and gently poke each hole? And are you talking about the EQ under the iPod settings? Because I don't wana change the way it plays when I'm listening through headphones..

1. Battery life can only be compared when comparing 2G vs 2G, or else it's not fair. With 3G, you get faster browsing, improved audio quality while talking. So yes, when comparing 3G vs 2G battery lifes, the 3G is lower but turning off 3G(if you don't care about audio quality during a phone call) will turn on 2G and improve battery life by 5 hours. From the USA Today review: "I found myself charging the device overnight, the same as with the older iPhone." Sounds to me like he is saying the battery life was the same...

2. It's only .7mm thicker, 1.1mm wider and .5mm taller... what are you complaining about? That's not even enough to notice anything.

3. It's shiny plastic, all phones/devices are like that so what's new? Just wipe it on your shirt and its back to normal. The front of the iPhone collects fingerprints, too, so it's not really that of a big deal now that the back does the same... Besides, plastic = no radio interference aka good quality sound, metal = radio interference aka shitty quality. From the NY Times review: "In fact, few cellphones sound this good." and "Feels better in your hand due to the curved back"

4. Data plan blows? It's only $10. If you can afford a $400/$500 phone, you can afford $30 a month. Besides, every other smartphones(on AT&T) data plan is $30. AT&T is basically treating the iPhone like any other phone.

5. GPS is real life. There's a blue circle which follows you as you go along the street. There's no turn-by-turn navigation but with the App Store, there's no doubt a company will create an App. Tom-Tom already has a working version on the iPhone WITH turn-by-turn navigatin, should be released soon.

Alright Steve Jobs calm the fuck down. All I'm tryin' to say is, it's nothing special over the current iPhone, people are expecting too much, but will be getting nothing that different from the current iPhone.

As for what everyone is really expecting from new new iPhone.. Check this out buddy...

Well, MacRumors has found the above a video of a comparison made between the current EDGE-enabled iPhone, and a simulated 3G iPhone made by sharing an iMac’s 3G internet connection with an iPhone. The results? 3G is just under twice as fast as EDGE.
Hmmm… So, is that really that great? For months now I have been hearing 3G will bring “broadband speeds” to the iPhone. This seems more like the jump from a 28.8 kbs modem to a 56 kbs modem - nothing that will dramatically change the way I surf the web on the iPhone. Don’t get me wrong, if you told me the next MacBook was going to be TWICE as fast as the current one, I would certainly think it was a worthy upgrade, and I am not saying I won’t upgrade my EDGE iPhone to a 3G model when they come out, but these speeds seem somewhat disappointing. Sure, I am still hungry for the 3G iPhone, but I certainly am not in the “openly salivating” mode I was in originally. I actually have said from day one that I am pretty impressed with EDGE’s speed – YouTube videos play after about 5 seconds, web pages load decently fast, and mail is not a problem.
This video (if accurate) brings me back to my question of whether AT&T will attempt to charge more for the data plan of a 3G iPhone, and more importantly, will consumers pay more for it? Even before seeing that video I was leaning heavily towards the “No” camp, and now I am more or less definite. While I like the convenience of being able to surf the web while stuck in a line or waiting room, I still do 98% of my internet browsing on a computer with a fast connection and a real screen/keyboard. To me the bigger selling point might be if the processor inside the iPhone 2.0 is faster than the current one, as I find the slight interface delays more annoying than waiting for a web page to load via EDGE – plus it might increase page rendering speeds almost as much as the 3G bump itself (and maybe drain the battery as much too).
What are your thoughts? Will 3G make that big a difference? If 3G speed is the only difference between the current iPhone and the next Gen, would you still plunk down $399 to upgrade?

Hell There's still some 30%-40% chance I might still flip my iPhone for around 650 on ebay and buy the 3g, but only if the speaker seems promising..
