Whats up I used to be able to burn DVD's on my laptop anytime but nowdays it always pops up with an error saying something about the power calibration anyone know wut the fuck is goin on with this thing, i tried going to control panel>admin tools>services and switching on/off the IMAPI cd burner joint nd the shit still wont work should i just go ahead and invest in an external writer or what hep me out fellaz!!!

Can you give the exact error massage? It'll be easier to pin point the problem.
Edit. It might be the media brand compatibility, try going into device manager and see if it's in DMA mode. If that doesn't work try to update the firmware of drive. If none of that work, it's the drive is crap, time to buy a new one with better media compatibly. Don't buy external drive as it's slow ass hell (usb connection). try and get an internal one. here's a link for cheap laptop drives. link
