Ok, I was on my computer at home and I was trying to watch a video from some site and it said I needed to download a program first, so I didnt think nothing of it. I did it with the quickness then realized it was some type of spyware, I dont even know what spyware is, is it some kind of virus or something? Anyway I dont know how to get rid of it. My computer at home is mad old, and I dont remember the password for the Norton Antiviris so I cant Install a new version or remover it from the Add/Remove Programs list. I dont even know if I should keep paying my bills or logging into my bank/credit card accounts if its being spied on. IDK, but anyway, can I get rid of this bull-shit or should I just get a new computer. My shit is mad old anyway but I've been saving for a down-payment on a new car and really dont feel like touching the money. Anyone have this "XP Antivirus 2008" problem before?

So pretty much anyone know how to get a password for Norton Anti-Virus,
Get rid of that XP Antivirus 2008,
Or anything to help out would be great...

same shit happened to me, use SpyBot - Search & Destroy 1.5.2 RC1 to get rid of it....

happened to me too, did u notice any significant changes cause if u let it go it fucks up a good deal of ur shit, i had to reboot my computer but i do that about once a month so it was nothing to it.

yea my desktop background keeps changing to a message sayin spyware detected, theres a wierd ass screensaver i cant change, and i dont think that shit is off my computer yet, im not sure but fuck it thou, im just gonna get a new one, i think its about that time anyway, this one is fucked !!!

and it slowed down ALOT since that shit happened

webroot spysweeper will take care of it too- we got that shit at work only they are coming out with the 2009 one now.

No need to reformat your PC or anything like that. I had that XP AntiVirus 2008 problem a few months ago. Tried webroot, tried spybot and none of them completely removed the problem.

I went to this website www.btshelpdesk.com and made an online tech sort it out remotely dude fixed it in less than an hour, it was cheap too. I'm just saying if you can't figure it out have someone fix it for you, you don't even have to leave your house. But don't reformat your system nothing is ever that serious, that XP AntiVirus was annoying as hell.

just go to program files and delete the xp av 08 folder and remove it from program list just got over this yesterday real talk

just backup some data,and then format your PC
