I wanna rip a few dvd's and post them to megashares does any one have any ideas on how I should go about this...

the whole dvd (including menu and languages and stuff) or just the movie? if by chance you're using mac then:
just the movie- handbrake http://handbrake.fr/?article=download
whole dvd- mactheripper http://www.mactheripper.org/

in windows, to split the movie to different parts (if you don't have a megashare account), use hjsplit. http://www.freebyte.com/hjsplit/

I use Anydvd (remove copy protection) and clonedvd (rip disc). I also use AutoGK to convert it to xvid, video always come out clean.

Why not just use DVD Decrypter and call it a day.
