I just downloaded this "WIndows xp Professional SP3! ( student edition )", it did not come as a ISO but I need it to be a bootable disk because my HD does not have a OS and for some reason wont run a LIVE CD.

I dont have another working computer that has a OS niether with SATA [which is what my HD is].
Does any one know if I can burn this as a data disc or how can I make it bootable?

Try this

Insert files into iso image - MagicISO

Btw, is H your CD/DVD drive?

If so, it should boot because I just burned an XP ISO then and the files look like that on the CD.

boot pc, Press and hold F11 to go into boot menu and boot from cd or enable "boot from cd drive" in bios.

O nah ah H was my iPod. I use it as a drive to store large files on the empty space.
Yuh its wierd in the read me's there are not any serial #s or the iso instructions like most Windows installs.

I bought XP Pro Student edition over here at my job [MD Anderson Cancer Center] for $30. I just thought, might as well buy it so I dont have to bother with blacklisted serials or bad installs. It came with 2 copies with seperate keys.

then the sp3 should be an auto clean download

imgburn

create image file from folder option

then burn using

write image to disc option

It was a .rar file? I know a lot of times, .ISO files will open in WinRAR, thus making you think it's a .rar. Try burning it. If that doesn't work, change the .rar to a .iso and burn it.
